BMS EXPLAINED AND USAGE
·
BMS is a sensitive device therefore handle with care
·
BMS balances unbalanced cells
·
BMS protects cells from over-charge
·
BMS protects Cells from over-discharge
·
BMS protects Cells from severe cold weather conditions
·
BMS protects Cells from Severe hot weather conditions
·
BMS,if Bluetooth enabled; cell conditions can be viewed onMobile devices
·
BMS can be destroyed by faulty Balance cable wiring
REFERENCE PROCEDURE: (TOP BALANCING OF 8S Li-Ion\Lifepo4 cells)
·
CHECK EACH CELL voltage with DMM and note it down
·
Connect each Cell in PARALLEL and allow it to remain for 24 hours.
·
NOTE it is PARALLEL connection. THIS IS IMPORTANT to observe.
·
By doing so, the cells will typically balance itself, to about 3.7V DC incase of Li-ion cells.2V DC incase of Lifepo4 cells, This procedure is called
TOP BALANCING.
·
Next remove parallel connections and recheck individual Cell Voltage and compare with initial reading.
·
If any of the cells exhibit low voltage, recharged it externally to 3.7V DC For Li-ion Cells.2V DC for Lifepo4 Cells
·
Next connect the cells in SERIES and obtain final reading.
·
It should read about 29.6V DC for Li-ion.6V DC for Lifepo4 when you connect 4 cells in series.
REFERENCE PROCEDURE: (8S Cells Wiring of BMS)
·
On Li-ion Cell configuration the BMS will have
(9) Balance cables
on a white molex plug.
·
They are one BLACK and the rest
8 RED cables.
·
Fit Ring Terminals to each of the cables
·
CAREFULLY connect BLACK cable to Battery NEGATICE Terminal.
·
Carefully select the next RED cable and connect to the next POSITIVE Terminal and the next RED cable to the next Positive Terminal and the next red cable to the next Positive terminal. All
8
positive terminals are connected.
·
OBSERVE CONNECTION CAREFULLY, ENSURE IT IS CORRECT.
·
DO NOT CONNECT BALANCE CABLE MOLEX PLUG TO BMS AT THIS TIME.
REFERENCE PROCEDURE: (BMS TO BATTERY PACK)
·
There are two AWG10 cables on BMS. Cable color may vary depending on makes and models. Generally it is BLUE and BLACK.
·
Heavy Duty LUG TERMINAL must be crimped to BLUE BMS cable and connect it to NEGATIVE POLE of the battery. Remember BMS BLACK BALANCE cable is also connected to Negative pole of the Battery.
·
Ensure tight fitting. Do not over tighten as this may lead to threads stripping.
·
The AWG10 BLACK cable is NOT connected any where. This is the main Negative LOAD AND CHARGE CABLE.
REFERENCE PROCEDURE: Checking final stages)
·
Once again ensure all connections are correct and secure.
·
NOW CONNECT THE BMS balance cable white Molex plug into the BMS socket.
·
Place DMM positive probe to Battery pack Positive terminal and Negative probe to AWG10 BLACK cable and obtain reading.
·
The reading should be 29.6VDC for Li-ion/25.6 for Lifepo4 Approx.
·
NOW YOU ARE READY FOR CHARGING THE BATTERY PACK. ENJOY!
·
(NOTE: some times this reading may be abnormal (unlikely)
·
Or no reading. CHECK YOUR BMS BALANCE CABE CONNECTION.
·
If that is correct, then TAP BMS AWG10 BLACK cable to
·
NEGATIVE Pole of the Battery Pack. This would correct the issue if there was. Normally there is no need to perform the above procedure.
Advantages of Smart BMS
·
We can change the default setting by using application
·
We can monitor the performance of the battery any time
·
We can control battery using application
How to connect BMS to mobile
Please download the Daly mobile application in your mobile
1.For Android phone
: download the smart bms APP from Google play store
2.For I Phone
: download smart bms APP from APPLE STORE
3
.
Alternately
apps can download from dalyelec.cn website
·
Click to enter the APP and select the corresponding Bluetooth.
PS: Before entering the APP, you need to plug in the temperature control NTC. To confirm that the protection board has been activated and working, users who have purchased the battery display board (key activation) only need to press the switch on the battery display board to activate the protection board. The first time it needs to be charged and activated.
·
Attached power display panel (key activation)
·
Enter the APP interface you can see the corresponding Bluetooth serial number. The serial number is the same as the serial number posted on Bluetooth.
·
Click the Bluetooth serial number to enter the real-time status interface.
You can see the real-time voltage, current, the percentage of battery capacity remaining, the MOS state of charging and discharging, whether the balance is on, etc.
·
Enter the parameter setting interface, you can see five major sections:
Ø
Protection parameters
Ø
Battery core characteristics
Ø
Collection board settings
Ø
Temperature protection
Ø
Charge and discharge control
Note: To ensure the stability of the data, it is not recommended for non-professionals to set this parameter. To set parameters, you need to enter the initial security password 123456
Ø
In the protection parameter interface, the protection values of voltage and current can be set.
Ø
In the battery cell characteristics, you can set the total capacity of the battery, the remaining capacity, and the balanced opening conditions. Set the sleep time to 65535S to cancel the sleep function.
Ø
In the acquisition board setting interface, it needs to be set together with the hardware device. It is not recommended that the user set this
Ø
In the temperature protection setting, the protection temperature of charge and discharge can be set.
Ø
On the charge and discharge control interface, you can switch the charge and discharge MOS tube, and you can reset the password.
