195 soldNOTE: When replacing a 12 Volt battery in a Verizon FIOS box (Battery Backup Unit or BBU), do not throw away the existing cable harness with the battery. A replacement battery from Verizon does not come with a new harness. Nor do they sell one. They want a pricey service call to replace the existing equipment with an updated version.
Please note: This is a sale not a bid offer. I dismiss all other bids.
Be aware, USPS is taking 10 to 14 days to deliver in some cases.
Replacement 12Volt battery cable for Verizon/Frontier FIOS box. New cable is 8 inches long. This is two inches longer than the original cable and makes battery replacement easier. Includes fuse and 1/4" color coded battery connectors. Use if you have a visual/audible battery alarm on the FIOS box, and replacing the battery did not fix the problem. Or if your existing cable has been lost or become corroded by battery discharge. The original cable has a molded in fusible link that is not replaceable. Remember to fully depress the catch on the top of the main connector to the FIOS box to remove the existing cable.
I had this problem on my system. I could not get a replacement from Verizon short of an expensive service call. I found I had the parts to make a replacement cable, and the tooling left over from previous radio projects. This cable fixed my issues as I had a blown fuse. Then it occurred to me... I cant be the only one looking for one of these devices. I make them a few at a time for sale. You may have to open up the battery cable connectors a little with a fine screwdriver to get the new connectors to seat on new battery connectors.
I had one person report the new battery and harness did not fix the ONT (Optical Network Terminal) The sensing and charging electronics can go bad.
There is .21 in new parts in the harness, and 30 minutes of my time to assemble, test, address and ship so that's .79 for my time. Not even minimum wage. But it is my way of thumbing my nose to Verizon.
